Painting in Terracina,

I will be in Terracina, Italy in September of 2006, taking
a language course. Some of the participants have asked me to teach a painting class.
I have agreed to teach a few sessions when we have free time. I would like this
to be a low key and fun experience aimed at the beginning level. I would like
to keep the group size very small.
Maximum number
of 6-8 students, so if you are interested contact me as soon
as possible to reserve your space.
I am thinking that four, two hour sessions, will be
sufficient to get us started on the joys of painting and learning some basic
skills.
Monica has graciously agreed to the use of the cultural center. The rest of the time we will paint and sketch at the beach or in coffee shops.
Plan on bringing some art supplies, watercolor paints, and good strong watercolor paper. I think paper is the most important part.
Bring two or three brushes, number 12 and 5 and 3 or similar. The idea is to have a large brush for big spaces and a small brush for details.
Since we all plan to travel light, just pack a set of 12/ or 24 student grade cake type paint set. The ones you can get for kids will work fine.
Of course if you are more serious and more advanced, feel free to bring your good, professional quality materials and I will be happy to help you along.

People have asked me about price. I normally charge $25 per session. But since I am going to mostly focus on my language skills,and my own paintings, I didnąt want this to be a formal thing and donąt want to stress about it.
So letąs Just go see what happens, how our trip evolves, how much free time we have and just enjoy the art for art sake.
Here is a list of supplies for those of you who really want to come prepared. Monica says that it will be difficult to get art supplies there, so plan ahead if you want to paint.
